Terms & Conditions

Congrats!  You made it to our terms and conditions page.  We know a LOT about cleaning, and we want to share a few things with you that we’ve learned over the decades, just in case it helps your decision in working with us.  We tried hard to write in plain language and make this readable, but if anything is unclear, please contact us.

Approval of Work and Pricing

First, our business transaction with you may be conducted by electronic means, including written approval by you, our customer, through web approval, email, or text exchange.  Allowing access to your property for Bishop Clean Care to perform services constitutes approval of same services and prices.  In other words, if you let us in to do the work, you’ve agreed to these terms, including that you’ll need to pay us the amount we shared with you for the work ordered.  In the event you haven’t received an estimated amount from us, yet you ask us to continue with our work (perhaps it’s an emergency!), we’ll still expect payment for services rendered according to our standard price lists.

Payment

Full payment is due upon completion of work.  Interest on late payments will be charged at 1.5% per month, plus all collection costs and attorney's fees if necessary.  Items left at our office accumulate a one time $50 transfer fee and recurring storage fees of $25/month minimum after 45 days.  See representative for full storage fee schedule.

Our business assesses a surcharge of 2.9% on Visa, MC, and Discover credit card payments, and 3.5% for AMEX.  This is no greater than our cost of accepting the card. Payment by credit card is not required, and there is no additional fee to pay via debit card, ACH, cash, or check.

Prior Conditions

We will exercise care in cleaning your floor coverings and furnishings.  However, there is no guarantee against shrinkage, color loss or migration, fabric separation, changes in texture and other conditions that cannot be anticipated.  Existing damage or installation failures may worsen during cleaning.  Please inspect furnishings for existing damages.  Excessively worn items cannot be restored to a new appearance.  Spots caused by heavy soil or spills cannot always be completely removed during one cleaning.  When we clean in your home, you are responsible for controlling the inside environment to facilitate acceptable drying times following cleaning.

Flame Retardant Alert!

Some manufacturers of upholstery apply flame retardant to their fabrics at the factory.  We don’t really like this, because it can cause big problems during cleaning.  Some flame retardants respond very poorly to the chemistry of cleaning agents and may permanently damage your furnishings.  We’re letting you know this as a courtesy, and also to be clear that you’ll need to seek restitution from your retailer or manufacturer if damage occurs.

Salvage Treatment

Urine, feces, or other protein-based fluids from humans or pets contain chemical agents of a destructive nature and may have already caused irreversible damage to your furnishings.  We didn’t put it there, we’re just trying to get it out.  This means restorative measures may be required to clean these furnishings, and such measures may result in further damage beyond our control.  Protein-based stains and odors cannot always be removed completely.  Shrinkage, color loss or migration, fabric separation, and other conditions may occur during the cleaning process.  We work hard to avoid this and usually can.  We’re also very sorry when it happens, but we won’t take responsibility for permanent damage from the presence of pet and bodily fluids, nor the damage that may result from removing them.

Our Guarantee

We do a lot of cleaning, and we’ve put in the time and training to understand and use the best cleaning agents for your furnishings.  This means we’ll make really thoughtful decisions about what products and tools we use to serve you.  When we follow industry standards of care, it turns out right 99.9% of the time.  But sometimes your furnishings aren’t in a condition that responds well to cleaning, often due to age and wear, or sometimes due to prior conditions we weren’t involved in. In these situations, we ask for your understanding that we don’t make restitution for events outside our control.  Of course, none of this means we’re perfect!  If we make a clearly identifiable mistake in handling your property, we’ll always make it right for you.
